When it comes down to choosing a make up look that I feel comfortable with on a daily basis my love for natural taupe shades has grown tremendously this season. Here's a few products I have been loving for this simple polished up look.
Face:
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation:
This foundation has a lovely smooth gel like consistency I have this in the shade cream. Its easy to apply and blends effortlessly. If you have oily skin it works well at controlling the oil levels within the skin especially the T- zone area. I have been using this foundation for a good few months now and I have never tried any other chantecaille products before this. Its a full to medium coverage and I must say that I am rather impressed with the formula and with the way it covers blemishes so easily!
Burberry Sheer Concealer:
This has been my go to concealer pen for the past few months. I use this underneath my eyes and it does not budge all day. It's so easy to build on and does not set in to fine lines I especially love using this on a whim a dab and a pat and I'm done! A full review of this concealer can be viewed here.
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Spf 15:
I received this as a sample size with an Hourglass purchase. Once applied it has that typical smooth primer like feel but I really did not notice much of a difference with this one. I have tried primers that do the same thing if not better and are much more affordable such as the Dior glow maximizer. (Available at Space NK 10ml- 30ml £20-£52)
Eyes:
Feline Flick Pen Charlotte Tilbury:
It has taken me forever to find an eye liner pen that I actually adore. Before owning this pen I was all about gel pots because of the bad experiences I had with eyeliners in a pen form (drying out, fluffy edges etc..) I have not experienced any of those symptoms with this pen.The Feline Flick Pen is inspired by Japanese Calligraphy and is stated as being a "Fine Line Shodo Pen." It closely mimics a felt tip pen which may be why it is so easy to use. I love the fact that this eye liner lasts the whole day on me without smudging. It has definitely made me more confident with mastering a feline flick! (Available at Charlotte Tilbury £22)
Rock 'N' Kohl Eye Cheat Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil:
This eye pencil is a creamy long lasting formula in an off white shade. When I first heard that an eye pencil can make the eyes look bigger I was not buying in to it. An eye pencil that can what?! I said. I watched a few tutorials and realised that it actually isn't as bad as it looks. So I walked in to Selfridges and tried it on and I must admit there was a long pause. I looked different and I couldn't make out if it was for the better or the worse. After a few more glances I figured that I looked less tired than usual which was why I purchased it. Now it's become a necessity it helps to brighten everything up without being so obvious as well as making my eyes look bigger and less tired. (Available at Charlotte Tilbury £19)
Maxfactor Masterpiece Transform:
I have tried many mascaras some high end and some from the drugstore funny enough I still have not found myself a mascara that I would repurchase. It may be because there is always something that I am not too happy with it may be to do with the formula, wand or packaging etc.. After all mascaras are a very personal choice depending on what look you like best. There is really nothing that I could fault this mascara on I really like the formula and I love the fact that this mascara has no fall outs at all during the day. It covers every lash individually, separates them and makes them look longer. I think the thin wand to this mascara really makes it easy to work with.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette:
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette never fails to be a part of my day to day routine. I have done a post where I have spoken about this palette in more detail which can be viewed here. It contains sixteen gorgeous versatile shades that can be used on a day to day basis or on occasions. The triple fudge shade (Top right) is a deep brown matte shade which has been a saviour for my brows lately! A few light strokes on an angled brush just adds the shape and definition needed.
Cheeks:
Pucker Coral Lip and Cheek Tint & Other Stories:
I have always loved powder blushes and they are still a firm favourite. I thought it was about time that I started experimenting with the different types of blush formulas out there. That's when I picked this creamy cheek tint up. I wore this mostly all through out the summer and its still going strong. Summer or winter I love this stuff! Its not too bright and looks super natural. Its more of a dulled down coral and doesn't fail to give that healthy plump glow to the cheeks. The formula is creamy and sheer so a little goes a long way. (Available at & Other Stories £12)
Nyx Illuminator:
I love using this just above my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose for a subtle glow. I have reviewed this previously in detail which can be viewed here. I have the narcissistic shade which is a peachy gold highlighter that gives the skin a healthy sun kissed sheen! (Available at Nyx Cosmetics Net Wt 9.5g/ 0.33oz £9)
Lips:
Pillow Talk Lip Liner Charlotte Tilbury:
Charlotte Tilbury's lip products never fail to amaze me I recently finished the Pink Venus lip liner and that's when I decided that I had to give Pillow Talk a go. It truly is a beautiful nude shade that can work wonders at enhancing the shape of the lips. I like to wear this on its own some days for a natural look. The formula of this lip liner is buttery smooth it glides on smoothly without causing any harsh unwanted lines. (Available at Charlotte Tilbury £16)
K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick In Hepburn Honey Charlotte Tilbury:
A gorgeous honey nude lipstick! I had never worn a fully nude lipstick until I tried this and I love it. Its a shade that I have become really comfortable with. My relationship with this lipstick is a bit like my relationship with my favourite pair of jeans. I don't even have to double think about what lip colour I want to wear most mornings I smack some of this on and I'm off! Again the formula of this lipstick is faultless. It feels very moisturising and hydrating once applied.
That's all for my natural week day look! What are your favourites for a simple look?
